RIDOTT, IL ~ Sandra Sue Allen, age 78, passed away peacefully at her home in Ridott, IL, on Sunday, February 8, 2026. She was born October 26, 1947, in Lightsville, IL, the daughter of Ernest F. & Maxine J. (Zilliox) Helman. After graduating High school in 1965 she went on to marry Gary Lee Allen and they spent their lives building a wonderful life and family. Sandra was a lady who loved nature and caring for it and animals. She could often be found feeding and watering the birds that would visit them at their deck. She was truly a caregiver; she loved taking care of her family during special occasions and get togethers. During these times they would play games and enjoyed being with one another. She was truly there for any family member that needed her.
Sandra joins several members of her family in heaven, including her parents Ernest & Maxine and her sisters Phyllis, Darlene, Debbie and Judy. She is survived and missed dearly by her loving husband Gary Allen; children Tina Janssen; Jeffrey Allen; Gary Bradley (Lori) Allen; Lisa Love; Christopher Allen; brother Joe (Eleanor) Helman; grandchildren Kyle; Courtney; Casey; Brittany; Ashton; Destiny; Dustin; great-grandchildren Carter; Addison; Zoey; Zayden; several nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.
Private family services have been scheduled for later this month. Sandra will be laid to rest with several family members at North Grove Evangelical Cemetery of Leaf River, IL.
