SANDRA JEAN ALLMARAS
August 21, 1941 ˜ October 22, 2024
Sandra Jean Allmaras (Sandi), 83, passed away on Oct. 22, 2024.
Sandi was born in New Rockford, ND, on Aug. 21, 1941.
Sandi graduated from St. James Catholic High School in 1960. Her family relocated to Portland, OR in 1961. Fun fact: Sandi’s mother, Ellen Allmaras, bribed Sandi to move to Portland by buying her a record player!
Sandi started working at The Columbian in 1965 and ultimately retired in 2000.
Sandi’s main focus was to live her life to the fullest, travel and see the world and spend time with her family.
Sandi is survived by her daughter, Jill Allen and son, Scottland Allen, daughter-in-law, Jennifer Allen, as well as her four grandchildren (Conrad, Kaitlin, Kayla and Carter) and great-grandchildren (Carson, Benjamin, Adelaide, Mason and Madison). She is loved, and very missed.
Celebration of Life will be on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2024, at 1 p.m. at Sheraton Portland Airport Hotel.

Sandi and I had become friends in our early 20s and had traveled and had so many great experiences together . We often said "We should write a book". I will keep that "Book" in my memories for ever. Sandie Wall

I got to tag along with Aunt Sandi to her work for career day. It was a behind the scenes of how a newspaper is made. She gave a tour and I had a blast.
