Sandra Sue Barnett "Sandy", age 85, of Lancaster, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on December 6, 2025. Born on a farm outside of Chesapeake, Ohio, on June 16, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Dorothy L. Richards and Delbert C. Singer. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Harold W. Barnett. Together they had 3 daughters, Cindy (Greg) Taylor, Linda (Bob) Ellison and Kimberly (Mike) Moore. Sandy loved her family deeply and was always there for them. She was affectionately called Granny by her 9 grandchildren- Justin (Meridith) Taylor, Melissa (Todd) Pulham, Stephen (Whitney) Taylor, Matthew Moody, Robert Ellison ,Kayla Ellison, Deidra (Mike) Gonzalez, Christopher (Megan) Moore, and Zach (Logan) Moore, and her 13 great grandchildren-Kennedy, Sebastian, Mason, Ashlyn, Jase, Vella ,Rome, Cooper, Marley, Levi, Olive, Isaac, and Jonah.

Sandy attended school In Rio Grande, Ohio, where she met her life long friends, Deanna and Mary. She completed her high school education at Columbus Evening High School. After graduation she held secretarial positions for the State of Ohio Bureau of Probation and Parole and the Columbus and Southern Ohio Electric Company. Later she served as a legal secretary for the law firms of Fiebel, Fiebel & Golden, Dargusch Law Offices, and Baker & Hostetler. For many years she was able to stay home and work at her favorite job-wife, mother, and homemaker. She left the work force when her husband retired and for several years they managed Gramp's & Granny's Collectibles.

Sandy loved music and singing in the church choir. Growing up she would harmonize with her sister and mom as they shared evenings together on the front porch. She was an avid reader with an extensive library. She enjoyed working with children and over the years served as Girl Scout leader,Sunday School and VBS teacher, neighborhood Bible Club teacher and youth group leader. She also spent many hours crocheting and blessed many with her talent.

Sandy would be the first to tell you she was a sinner saved by grace. Her decision to follow Christ in April of 1965 not only changed her life but the direction of her family as well. She attended Greencastle Bible Church for over 58 years where she served faithfully often sharing her wisdom through devotionals at bridal showers. She will be remembered for her smile and joy in the Lord and her heart full of love and generosity to others.

Sandy was preceded in death by her beloved grandma and grandpa, Minnie and Leslie Irion; 2 sisters, Kay Francis Singer and Patricia Peerenboom; and granddaughter, Grace Taylor. She is survived by her brother, Larry (Ruth) Richards and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, December 12, 2025, at the Greencastle Bible Church, 2940 Amanda Northern Rd. NW, Carroll, OH 43112, with Pastor Mike Wyatt officiating. Interment will follow at Amanda Township Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service Friday at the Church. A private time for family viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Church.

Arrangements are in the care of the Taylor-Theller Funeral Home, Amanda.

Friends may make memorial contributions to the Northside Christian School, 2655 W. Schrock Rd., Westerville, OH 43081.
