Sandra Bernier Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Trahan Family Funeral Home of Milton on May 29, 2024.
Sandra Zeller Bernier, 63, of Valparaiso gained her wings on May 25th, 2024. Her sudden loss was unexpected, and the family is profoundly saddened.
She is preceded in death by her mother Rosemary Garcia Zeller, father Francis Zeller, sister Katherine Zeller and brother Stephen Zeller.
Sandi is survived by her loving husband, Dave; her daughter, Taylor Gonzalez; her son, Kory Fenstemacher; her siblings, Cynthia Sutton Gutierrez, Rusty Zeller and Suzanne Adams Chappell. She also leaves behind her stepmother, Judy Zeller; stepchildren, Erin Bernier, Caitlin Bernier Lewis, and Joseph Bernier; nieces, Katlyn Sutton Mire, Ashlyn Zeller Hall, Tiffany Adams, Casey Zeller and Kristen Sutton Todd
She was born on February 16th, 1961 in New Orleans, Louisiana. She lived her early life in Metairie, Louisiana living with her parents and siblings on Hall Avenue. She graduated Riverdale High School in 1980 where she was heavily involved with her sorority Alpha Delta Kappa. She was on the diving team at Lynn Park, sang in the school choir and was a maid on the homecoming court. She moved to Fort Walton Beach, Florida in 1992 and finally got her dream of living on the beach. She was an animal lover, especially her dog Harley and cats Willow and Mary. She loved her family, her friends and anything outdoors. She loved being on the water whether boating, kayaking, paddle boarding or just enjoying the beach. She always enjoyed her weekend motorcycle rides with her husband. She was always full of life and never met a stranger. Sandi bled black and gold for her favorite team the New Orleans Saints. She was an avid runner and enjoyed training for big races. She ran her first half marathon in 2016 (a big life goal) and always enjoyed visiting her favorite city, New Orleans to run the Crescent City Classic. She will be missed greatly, and the sun will shine a little less without her.
