"It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of our beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, Sandra K. Bonick. Sandra was known to her grandchildren and their friends as "Mia."
In loving memory of her life, we are saddened by her passing on April 20, 2024. Sandra passed peacefully at the age of 83. She was predeceased by her husband, F. Thomas Bonick, Father Clifford Miller, Mother June Miller, and her sister, Gail Lameo.
She was survived by her loving Daughter, Debra Bonick; grandchildren, Nicole Mancuso and Husband Michael Mancuso; Ryan Rusnak and Wife Daniella Rusnak; and Meghan Rusnak and fiancé Matthew Eli. Sandra is also survived by her Great-Grandson, Benjamin Rusnak.
Sandra received her nursing degree from Marywood College. For most of her adulthood, she focused on raising her daughter and supporting her gymnastic aspirations. Later, she became a buyer for Burts Department store on the Avenue. Sandra loved her title of "Mia" and enjoyed attending all her grandchildren's life events.
All admired Sandra as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a pillar of the community and parishioner of Our Lady of Sorrows Church.
Our family expresses sincere gratitude for the loving care provided to Sandra by the nursing staff at Vestal Park during her time there. Additionally, we want to thank her caregivers, Amanda Adkins and Anna Zentmyer, who cared for Sandra during her time in Maryland. Their constant presence was a source of comfort to us all.
Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, April 25, at 10:30 am at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 801 Main Street, Vestal. The burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends and family at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott, on Wednesday, April 24, from 4 to 6 pm.
There will be a celebration of life for F. Thomas Bonick and Sandra Bonick, as well as for all friends and family in the Smithsburg, Maryland area-date and time to be determined.
