Sandra Bridges Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Carafa Family Funeral Home, Inc. - Chelsea on Dec. 3, 2025.
Sandra Lee Bridges (Neal) passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on Sunday, November 30th.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Paul M. Bridges; her two sons, Paul and Jason; her daughter-in-law, Yvonne; and her four cherished granddaughters, Halina, Gwen, Ashlyn, and Charli, whom she often referred to as her "beautiful and precious girls."

A lifelong New Englander, Sandy was raised in Everett, Massachusetts. The daughter of Charles Neal, an Everett firefighter, Alyce Neal, a local nurse, and sister of Dr. Charles (Dougie) Neal. She graduated from Everett High School in 1964 and earned her teaching degree from Boston College in 1968.

For over 30 years, Sandy dedicated her career to the Chelsea Public School system, the community where she also raised her family. Known for her supportive nature, she was a dedicated teacher and a respected mentor to many fellow educators throughout her service. During the 1980s and 90s, while her sons attended Our Lady of Grace school and church, Sandy was a prominent fixture in the parish community, often volunteering her time for church events and fundraisers.

Following her retirement from teaching, Sandra settled in Pembroke, Massachusetts, to embrace her most treasured role: "Nana." She devoted her time, energy, and heart to serving as the family matriarch, skillfully binding her family's love as it expanded over the years.

Sandy's infectious warmth meant she was always quick to share a bright smile, a comforting hug, and unwavering support with her many friends and family. She cherished sharing a good laugh and a nice glass of wine with those she loved.
