Richard Vincent Cubetus, a Proud Army Veteran, passed away while being lovingly attended to by staff at The Veterans Home at Chelsea for 15 years.

The son to Anthony and Alice (Halligan) Cubetus, was born in Everett and became a Malden Native. He was the middle son of three boys.

Richard enlisted into the Army as a teen where he did two tours in Vietnam, one of them landing him into the battlefields of Khe Sanh earning him A Bronze Star medal, National Defense medal, Army Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Air Medal, Two Overseas Service BARS, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and was an Expert with the M-14 Rifle. He was Honorably discharged as a Specialist 5.

Richard was known for his generous heart often donating to catholic Charities, St. Judes Children Research Center, local little leagues and helped single mothers put their kids through community college all while donating in his mother's name.

Richard worked in the accounting field and loved betting on horses. He will be remembered for his fun-loving spirit and two-step dancing.

FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS: A service honoring the life of Richard was held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne on January 22, 2026. Donations in his memory may be made to: ALSAC/St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or on-line at www.stjude.org Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Carafa Family Funeral Home in Chelsea.
