Sandra Bustinza Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Sunset Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory - Brownsville on Feb. 26, 2026.
Sandra Bustinza, 56, of Brownsville, Texas, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2026, in Brownsville, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 23, 1969, in Brownsville, Texas, where she built a life centered on love, family, and resilience.

Sandra was a devoted daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She is survived by her mother, Raquel Cantu; her father, Oscar Bustinza; and her stepfather, Luciano Cantu. She leaves behind her loving sisters, Diana Bustinza, Cynthia Oswald, and Crixtela Castelo.

Her greatest pride and joy were her children: Jennifer Olivares, Vyktoria Olivares, Tiffany Olivares, and Juan Carlos Ramírez. She was also blessed with her sons-in-law, Markus Olvera and Brandon Ives. Sandra adored her grandchildren-Kimberly Kowalski, Haylee Avila, Fred Kowalski, Liberty Cardenas, Micaela Osorio, and Mackenzie Olvera-who filled her life with laughter and unconditional love.

She is also survived by her cherished nieces, Natalia Kastan, Crystal Bocanegra, and Isabel Hernandez, and her sister-in-law, Dolores Olivares.

Sandra is preceded in death by her beloved grandparents, Sylvestre and Manuela Infante, and her mother- and father-in-law, Jose de Jesus and Bertha Olivares.

Sandra was loved deeply by all who knew her. She had an adventurous soul, a strong and beautiful spirit, and a heart that welcomed everyone. Family meant everything to her. Though her passing leaves a tremendous void, we find comfort in knowing she is no longer suffering and is now at peace.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 2, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home in Brownsville, Texas, with a rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m. Services conclude at the end of the evening. In honor of Sandra's wishes, she asked that she be the only one wearing black, and that guests celebrate her life by wearing other colors.

She will be deeply missed-not only by her family and friends, but also by her beloved dog, Vader, who brought her constant companionship and joy.

Sandra's love, strength, laughter, and adventurous spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched.

Funeral services have been entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home in Brownsville, Texas.
