In Loving Memory
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce the passing of Sandra Butler (Pete), who departed this life on Saturday, January 31, 2026. She was born on September 4, 1947, in Columbus, Ohio. She was the first of three children born to Douglas Butler and Claudine Randolph Butler.
She was educated in the Columbus Public School System and a proud graduate of East High School Class of 1965. She studied at The Ohio State University. She was also a member of the Ohio Army National Guard. She worked as a clerk at the Defense Construction Supply Center in her early years. She went on to further employment for the City of Columbus, Columbus Police Department as records technician from which she retired in 2001.
Sandra was preceded in death by her father Douglas Butler; mother Claudine Butler Smith; niece Lisa Butler; brother Steven Butler; and stepfather Jospeh Smith.
Sandra is survived by her sister Sharon Hawkins; two great nephews Brandon (Brittney) Nowlin and Kevin Jones, II; Six great-great nephews Braylon and Bryden Nowlin, Kameron, Karter, Josiah, and Shiloh Jones and one great-great niece Brittyn Nowlin; Cousins Tony Golden, Michael (Jan) Butler, Jonathan Butler, and Phyllis Butler as well as many cherished friends Donna Obadina, William Bolden, Angela Tyler, Beverly Gibbs, and several other relatives and friends. Her extended families are Barnes, Lewis, and Tillman's. Sandra's presence will be profoundly missed but forever remembered in the hearts of all who loved her.
May Sandra "Pete" Butler rest in heavenly peace, forever remembered and deeply loved.

I remember Sandra, classmate of '65, we called each other our cousin. Sending condolences and prayers to her family, asking God to give you peace during this time of sadness.
