Sandra Re Campbell

Sandra Re Campbell, 69, passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at the St. George Hospital, surrounded by loved ones. She was born March 9, 1956, in Twin Falls, Idaho. At age six, she was adopted by Angeletta Howard Cox and Alma Joy Cox.

Sandy was raised in the small town of Rockville, Utah-affectionately known to her as "up river." She spent her days alongside her siblings, Jackie, Tracey, Steven, and Laurie, tubing the river, working on the family farm, tending the yearly garden, and attending Springdale Elementary. As she grew older, Sandy worked in local restaurants in Springdale and attended Hurricane High School, where she was a proud member of the Tigerettes drill team and graduated with the Class of 1974.

Upon graduation, she made her home in Hurricane, Utah, where she would live for the rest of her life. She married Brian James Stratton, and together they had five children: Holly, Heidi, Tiffany, Kade, and Beau. The marriage later ended in divorce.

On June 2, 1995, she married Allen Max Campbell and lovingly gained five "bonus" children-Jason, Jenny, Clay, Hannah, and Flint. During their 30 years of marriage, they built a beautiful home that welcomed countless friends and family. They never met a stranger; everyone was greeted with a smile, a warm heart, and plenty of food.

Sandy spent nearly 30 years serving the communities of Hurricane, St. George, and Hildale through the Southwest Public Health Department. She took great pride in her work, which was a perfect fit for someone who genuinely loved people. For many years, she was also the local Avon lady, finding professional success while building lasting friendships along the way.

Sandy was a vibrant, energetic woman who filled her life with family, friends, and her many passions. She loved teaching aerobics when her children were young, connecting with others through movement and fun, and even starred in an episode of the Richard Simmons show with her three daughters-a moment she fondly called her claim to fame. A talented seamstress, she tied hundreds of quilts that she joyfully gave away and always had baby gifts or crafts in progress. She loved travel, cruises, scenic rides, and visits to Kolob Mountain, and she never missed the chance to enjoy a sweet treat.

Sandy had a remarkable gift for friendship, maintaining lifelong connections from her childhood while also nurturing close groups of friends who shared years of crafting, meals, laughter, and funny stories. Family and friends were always central to her life, and she especially adored her grandchildren. Known affectionately to many as "Grandma C.," she delighted in sharing her talents with them and was famous for her special breakfasts of donuts and a drink from the gas station. Her warmth, generosity, and joyful spirit left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her.

Sandy was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had deep faith, a strong testimony of the power of prayer, and a heartfelt appreciation for priesthood blessings. Throughout her life, she led by example, serving others with kindness, generosity, and a joyful heart, inspiring those around her through both small acts of service.

Sandy is survived by her beloved husband, Allen Max Campbell, of Hurricane, Utah; her children: Holly Zitting (Grant) of Darien, Georgia; Heidi Baker (Jason) of Logandale, Nevada; Tiffany Neibaur (Brian) of Cedar City, Utah; Kade Stratton (Tere) and Beau Stratton (Stefanie), both of LaVerkin, Utah; Jason Campbell (Jana) of Hurricane, Utah; Jenny Vossler (Joel) of Enoch, Utah; Clay Campbell (Gail) of Hurricane, Utah; Hannah Ripplinger (Kris) of Santa Clara, Utah; and Flint Campbell (Christine) of Las Vegas, Nevada; 39 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Jackie Wells (Harold) of Washington, Utah, and Laurie Hartling of Lancaster, California; and her brother, Tracey Cox (Tammy) of Hurricane, Utah. She is also survived by her birth mother, Rose Carrier of Salt Lake City, Utah.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alma and Angeletta Cox; her brother, Steven Cox; and her grandson, Carter Stratton.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, January 4, 2026, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Hurricane LDS chapel, 274 S. 100 W., Hurricane, Utah. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 5, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Hurricane LDS chapel. A viewing will be held prior to the service from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Interment will take place in the Hurricane Cemetery following the services.
