Sandra "Sandi" Cannon, a cherished sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2025, in Columbus, Georgia. Born on August 28, 1953, Sandi's life was a tapestry of love, care, and unwavering devotion to her family. Her journey began as the daughter of the late James (Quitman) Courtney and Winnie Ruth (Wigington) Courtney as well as step daughter of Kermit Roseberry, and she embraced the world with a heart full of compassion.
Sandi's early years were filled with the warmth of a close-knit family, and as she grew, so did her capacity for love. She became a caregiver, a role that suited her nurturing spirit perfectly. Sandi's love for her family knew no bounds.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with her siblings: Lori Ibbotson (Gary), Lisa Courtney (Nick Sanders), and James Courtney (Mcrena). Her nieces and nephews - Jesse, Rebecca, Jakob, Courtney, Donna, Samantha, Nickolas, and Dalton, along with many great nieces and nephews - will fondly remember their Aunt Sandi as a beacon of guidance and affection. Her gentle presence enriched their lives, and her influence will continue to shape them in the years to come. Sandi was predeceased by her father James Courtney and mother and stepfather Ruth and Kermit Roseberry and her beloved sister, Nelda, whose memory she held dear to her heart.
Sandi's interests were a reflection of her love for life and family. She found joy in the simple pleasures, like watching football and cheering on her favorite team alongside friends and family. Her resilience and strength were as steadfast as her love, and she remained a pillar of her family through all of life's ups and downs.
As we bid farewell to Sandra "Sandi" Cannon, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a woman dearly loved. Her memory will be treasured in the hearts of all who knew her, and her spirit will continue to inspire kindness, compassion, and love in those she leaves behind.
