Russell Alan Pelfrey better known as "Rusty", was born on September 25, 1967, in Columbus,Ga and spent 58 years on this earth until his passing on November 5, 2025 at Piedmont hospital in Atlanta,Ga.
Rusty was an astonishing self made cabinet maker and the proud owner of 'Rusty's Custom Cabinet's' where he spent most of his days in his cabinet shop building the most magnificent works of art that showed his pure talented craftsmanship. He was known in his home town community of Seale Alabama and surrounding areas, as "The Cabinet Man." His work began in 1998 after following in his late dads footsteps and carried that craftsmanship for many years to come.
He is survived by a loving family that includes his three children, Anna Marie Pelfrey, Sierra Nichole Luke (Jacob Luke) and Russell "Alan" Pelfrey Jr. (Elizabeth Pelfrey), his ex wife of 28 years and mother to his children, Carrie Ann Pelfrey: including six beautiful grandchildren Levi, Lexi & Kaleb Luke, Jenna and Tucker & the delightful anticipation of the arrival of his newest grandchild Hagan Ray Pelfrey. Rusty's legacy lives on through his mother Marion White Pelfrey; his siblings, Rachel Pelfrey Mitchell, Casey Pelfrey (Donna Pelfrey), and Jerry Pelfrey (Teresa Pelfrey) and his beloved friend Brandi Clark Raley. Along with many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death was his father, Randall Jerry Pelfrey, whose memory Rusty carried in his heart daily.
Rusty's life outside of work included college football Saturdays "Roll Tide", Watching NASCAR on Sundays with his kids. Fishing was not just a hobby but a passion of his, a quiet time on the lake in his bass boat with the thrill of a catch! His workshop was his sanctuary for him, but the lake was his most beloved spot!
Rusty was a simple country man that just needed his cold beer, a lit Marlboro, the love of his family and God in his life to put a smile on his face. His generosity knew no bounds; he was always ready to lend a hand or tool to those in need, or give a good laugh "he loved making people laugh." At the end of each day he would find companionship and comfort in "Little Bit' his loyal chihuahua, who was by his side threw thick and thin.
Rusty will be remembered not just for his talent and creative mind in wood work, but for the many laughs he gave to us all! He taught us that life's most simplest moments whether it be casting a line into the water waiting for the catch of his life or calling your family a bazillion times just to talk your ear off. Remember it's the little things that count, so do not take them for granted!
He will Be truly Missed By All
