Clinton R. "Clint" Pelfrey, age 43 of Hillsboro, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, July 16, 2025. He was born August 30, 1981 in Cincinnati, the son of Marc A. (Theresa) Pelfrey of Mason and Robyn G. (Larry Henderson) Coomer of Hillsboro. Clint was always competitive and striving for excellence. This started at a young age. He was a key warrior of the Lebanon High school football team, #34. They were the 1998 Division 2 State Champions, and he graduated from Lebanon High School in 2000. Clint's athletic ability and competitiveness then made him into an excellent disc golf player. He traveled throughout the country playing in tournaments, and had a total of twenty-two career wins, and attained the Global Master Rank of 404. Clinton was a volunteer at the Paint Creek State Park disc golf course, which was his favorite, where he spent many hours working on the course to help maintain it. He said he did it for the love of the game. He loved music, movies, bowling and softball (where he met his wife), and enjoyed buying, selling and trading video games. Most of all, Clint loved deeply. He loved God, family and his country. He would do anything for those he loved. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife Sara E. (Carlson) Pelfrey. He is also survived by three children, Alianna H. Pendergrass of Middletown, Clinton W. Pelfrey and Grace L. Pelfrey, both of Washington C.H.; two sisters, Laura (Anthony) Hannah of Leesburg and Hollie (Neil) Holden of Lynchburg; his grandmother Cleadis Kaufman of Lebanon; his mother-in-law Lynne Carlson; his father-in-law James Carlson; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; multiple step-siblings; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as his faithful companions, Tippy and Max. He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Robert Coomer; and his grandparents, Dalton Kaufman, and Larry and Betty Pelfrey. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 24, 2025 at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro, where a funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow in the Hillsboro Cemetery.
