Connie Cheadle Bales Obituary

Published by Legacy on Nov. 7, 2025.
Connie J. Cheadle Bales, age 79, of Hillsboro went home to meet Jesus on November 6, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born the daughter of the late James and Ruth (Ellis) Cheadle on September 8, 1946 in Mason, West Virginia. Connie was a caring and hardworking woman who took great pride in everything she did. She began her career as a nurse's aide, where her compassion and dedication touched many lives. In her later years, Connie worked alongside Walt, on the farm. Connie loved the simple joys of life. She enjoyed fishing and tending to her flower gardens, and she took special pride in her canning and cooking. Her homemade cinnamon rolls were a treasured holiday tradition. She looked forward every year to Black Friday shopping adventures and never missed a chance to cheer on her beloved Cincinnati Bengals. Above all, Connie loved her family deeply. Her kindness, warmth, and unwavering love made her the heart of every gathering. She will be remembered for her caring spirit, her laughter, and the way she made everyone around her feel at home. Connie is survived by her better half, Wallace "Walt" Murphy; her children, Mark (Judy) Searles, Bob (Shelly) Searles, Connie (Mark Aber) Searles, Kimberly (Richard) Crabtree, Dennis (Tracie) Searles, and Pamela (David) Ferrell; 17 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; and a sister, Dorothy Gains. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Rebeckah Ferrell; and her brothers, Chuck, James, and Ronnie Cheadle. In keeping with her wishes, Connie will be cremated and a celebration of life service will take place on Saturday, November 15th at 12:00noon at the New Vienna Community Center, 12 Main St, New Vienna, Ohio. Lunch will be served following the service. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Connie J. Cheadle Bales, please visit our floral store.
