Louise J. Hapner, age 85, of Lynchburg, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at her home. She was born on March 31, 1940, in Trinity County, Texas, the daughter of the late Robert Q and Allie Mae (Browning) Jordan.
Louise was a woman of deep faith who grew up attending the Baptist church in Texas, where she took part in river baptisms that reflected her strong spiritual foundation and commitment to her beliefs. After moving to Ohio, she became a proud 1958 graduate of Hillsboro High School.
Louise had a lifelong passion for Republican politics, both locally and nationally. She was honored to serve as a delegate for President Ronald Reagan in 1976, 1980, and 1984-an experience she treasured deeply. She was a member of the Highland County Republican Women's Club, the Hillsboro Eastern Star, and the Hillsboro Junior Women's Club.
An avid reader and lifelong learner, Louise loved staying informed and engaged, but her greatest joy came from her family. She adored her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and her love for them was evident in every word and deed.
Louise will be remembered for her strength, her intelligence, and her steadfast spirit. She leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and dedication that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
Louise is survived by her four children, James Hapner of Columbus, Kathryn Hapner of Hillsboro, Sarah Hapner (Jon Blake) of Wilmington, and William (Grace Evardone) Hapner of Cincinnati; five grandchildren, Eric (Hakela) Hapner of Reno, Nevada; Colin (Vira) Brown of Columbus, Spencer Brown of Chicago, Illinois, George Kuntz of Hillsboro, and Benjamin Blake of Wilmington; two great grandsons, Aiden Brown and Henry Brown; brother and sister-in-law Jon and Suzanne Hapner; sister-in-law Mary Elizabeth Dyar, and brother-in-law, Mike Leach plus numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James D. Hapner on April 20, 2015; two siblings, James Jordan and Linda Leach.
Celebration of Louise's life will take place at a later date at the convenience of the family. The Turner & Son Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the family.
