Sandra was born on July 15, 1958 in Hertford County, North Carolina. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Sandra worked as an LPN nurse for many years and enjoyed taking care of all of her patients, especially the ones at the nursing home. She was an avid animal lover with her favorites being her cats. Sandra was always full of life and filled the room with her contagious laughter. She was loved by many and will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents; Veron Daniel Chamblee and Ruby Benthall Chamblee; and a brother, Jan Daniel Chamblee.
Sandra is survived by a son, Daniel Horne of Ayden; a daughter, Jessica Pierce and husband C. Gray of Cofield; the father of her children; Keith Horne; a grandson, Theodoros Keith Horne; three granddaughters, Alessandra Leigh Horne, Hannah Gray Pierce, and Laura Jean Pierce; brother, Melvin B. Chamblee and wife Nancy of Ahoskie; two sisters, Nancy Hunnicutt of Aulander, and Janice Decker of Raleigh; three nieces, Susan Hunnicutt Nguyen and husband Tom, Donna Hurdle and husband Scott, and Sylvia Wiser; a nephew, Chris Chamblee and wife Cyndi; and a special friend, Gene Scott of Williamston
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 23, 2022, from 6:00 pm until 7:30 pm at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service, Ahoskie, NC.
A celebration of life funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at 11:00 am at the Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service – Ahoskie Chapel, Ahoskie, NC, with Rev. Anita Thompson officiating.

Jessica and Daniel,
I had the privilege and honor of working with your sweet mama at Dr. Boyette´s office in Belhaven. She was a wonderful nurse and deeply cared for her patients. She was also a very dear friend to me. She helped me through a very difficult time in my life. She was loved and will be missed by so many. She never saw a stranger. My thoughts and heartfelt prayers are with you and all of your family. May God bring comfort to you, that only He can.

Sandra was a kind and compassionate person. I had the pleasure of working with her for many years. She cared for the residents she took care of. It wasn't just a job for her. She will be missed.
