Sandra Lee Cochran, 79, of Butler, Ohio, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Sandra was born on January 1, 1946 in Hawthorne, NV to parents Harold & Gloria (McLaughlin) Stewart. She was Homecoming Queen her senior year and enjoyed playing in the marching band at Clear Fork where she graduated with the first combined class in 1964.
She met Larry E. "Dutch" Cochran on a blind date and the two became a couple before eventually marrying on April 29, 1964. The two built their house together in 1977 and later on enjoyed being selected as the King and Queen of Butler Old Fashion Days in 2004. Together, they built a life full of love, laughter, and deep community roots.
She dedicated her early years to raising her family as a stay-at-home mom. After her son entered junior high, she began working for the U.S. Postal Service. Through hard work and dedication, she rose to become the Postmaster in Butler-a role she took great pride in until her retirement in 2005. She loved her job, especially the chance it gave her to connect with people in the community each day.
Sandra had a deep love for her family and a passion for simple joys. In her younger years, she spent time riding and caring for horses. Later in life, she enjoyed shopping, spoiling her grandchildren, and spending time with loved ones. Sandra's warmth, strength, and generous spirit will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.
She is survived by her son Mike Cochran of Butler; daughter and son-in-law Shanna and Andy Soliday of Butler; grandchildren Layla Soliday and Lincoln Soliday; sisters Judy (Chuck) Carman and Sue Shope; brothers and sisters-in-law Jan Cochran, Sharon (Dan)Workman, Dennis "Tad" (Mary Beth) Cochran and Tim Cochran.
She was preceded in death by her husband Larry "Dutch" Cochran; her parents and brothers-in-law Larry Shope, Ernie Cochran and Ronald "Duke" Cochran; sister-in-law Connie Cochran.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation for Sandra Lee Cochran on Thursday, May 15, 2025 from 1:30-3:30 pm at Snyder Funeral Homes, Bellville Butler Chapel, 81 Mill Road, Bellville, where a funeral service will begin promptly at 3:30 pm. June 21, 2025

I was so very sad to hear about Sandy's passing. I just heard about it today, June 22nd. Sandy and Dutch were always so kind to my husband Richard and me, when we were neighbors on Highland Drive. And when I had to go to the Post Office, she was always making me laugh. She was so kind!
Again, I am so sorry, and I'm wishing you all comfort in your sadness.
Sincerely,

Deirdre Hill Brown
