Sandra Conine was born on September 17, 1938, in Marysville, Kansas. She married her high school sweetheart, Darryl Conine, on January 31, 1958. Sandra was a stay-at-home mom until she began working as a teacher’s aide at Mesquite ISD, where she served for 20 years. She was a devoted wife, mother, and Meemaw.
Sandra loved to travel, paint, and create beautiful flower arrangements. Her greatest joy in life was her family. She loved being a Mom and Meemaw and could always be found helping with her grandkids or cheering them on at their many sporting events. She never missed a game if she could help it—she was their biggest cheerleader. In recent years, she cherished getting to know her great-grandchildren.
Sandra is survived by her daughters, Kathy Withrow (Mike) of Sulphur Springs, TX, and Misty Stephens (Alan) of Scurry, TX; grandchildren, Ryan Withrow (Megan) and their son, Townes; Darryl Blake Withrow (Kelcee) and
their son, Oliver; Chase Withrow (Cayli) and their daughter, Lila; Ashley Stephens (Jasmine) and their daughter, Aaliyah; Katie Stephens and her daughters, Casey, Mackenzie, and Everli; and Justin Stephens. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Linda Tramel of Kaufman, TX; Debbie Payne (Allan) of Rockwall, TX; and Dorothy Hodges of Garland, TX; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Darryl; her infant son; her parents, Stacy and Katherine Hodges; and her brother, Stacy Larry Hodges.
