Sandra Denise Curry

Sandra Denise Curry, 80, of Lewes, DE, died peacefully Friday, October 10, 2025 at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, DE, after a battle with cancer.
Sandy, as she was affectionately known, was born May 31, 1945 in College Park, MD, the daughter of the late Mearle Daniel DuVall and Mary Francis Gupton DuVall. She married Arthur Lorenza "Art" Curry, on October 18, 1984 in Silver Spring, MD.
Sandy was a life-long educator, she worked at the Prince George's County Public Schools in Maryland for over 25 years, as an English Teacher, Vice Principal, and Principal at several Middle & High Schools.
She was a member of the Wilmington, NC Bridge Club, as well as a member of The National, State, and Local Educational Association. Sandy was an avid reader and especially loved mystery novels, loved to work crossword puzzles and enjoyed spending time gardening in the yard regularly. She also loved hosting her friends, neighbors, and family for parties at her home. But her true passion was spending time with her grandchildren which gave her much joy in life.
In addition to Art, her husband of 40 years, she is survived by a daughter, Jennifer Ard, of Lewes, DE; a daughter, Melanie Curry, of Seattle, WA; a son, Michael Osinski, and his wife, Elena, and their daughter, Diana, of Leesburg, VA; a son, Derrick Curry, of Fort Washington, MD; a daughter, Alexandra DuVall, and her children, Audrey Johnston, Natalie Johnston, and Aidan Johnston of Mount Jackson, VA; a sister, Stephanie Jones Dorr, and husband, Jack, of Wilmington, NC; a brother, T. Lance DuVall, and wife, Fran, of Dagsboro, DE; a brother-in law, David Frank, of Jupiter Island, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, E. Kimberly DuVall.
The family will have a Celebration of Life at a later date.
