Robin Deane Hardy, 66, of Winchester VA, passed away from this earthly life on Wednesday, February 4th, 2026.
She was born in Bethesda MD on April 27th, 1959, the first child of James Deane and Charlene Westfall Deane. She was born on her maternal grandfather James Westfall's birthday, which was always very special to her.
Robin graduated from James Wood High School in 1977. Shortly thereafter, she began her career at Western Union where she worked for many years alongside her beloved mother, Charlene. In 2007, she began working at White Properties in Winchester. She quickly became an integral part of the business, working in finance. The White family and her coworkers embraced her as part of their extended family. She was known for her bold, honest, funny and caring ways, she showed up for people in ways that mattered. Robin and her husband Doug have owned & operated Interstate Liberty service station since 1987.
In 1981, Robin met the love of her life, Doug Hardy. Robin was passionate about supporting Doug, a local drummer, with his music and the bands in which he played. After a three-year romance filled with road trips and music filled nights, they were married on Sept. 1st, 1984, in
Winchester, VA. Their marriage was one of total support and commitment to each other and their dreams. As a couple, they were an example of generosity, sacrifice and love, their unique devotion to each other is an inspiration to those who knew and loved them.
Over the years, her passions included music, knitting, reading mystery novels, cooking and all of their horses, dogs and cats as she was an avid animal lover. She had a special love for hummingbirds. For many years, she was a huge fan of NASCAR's #3 and she passionately supported Doug in his own racing hobby. Most importantly, Robin cared deeply for her family and friends. She was fiercely loyal and protective of those that she loved and because of her strength and clarity, many considered her their rock and safe place.
Her humble, quiet generosity was limitless for many things including helping those in need, supporting orphans through World Vision and a multitude of animal rescue groups. Her generosity was always from the shadows as she never wanted recognition.
Robin was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Kelli Deane Hardy and her nephew Caleb. She is survived by her husband Doug Hardy, her brother James Deane, her nieces Hally Deane Nave and Kim Hardy, her nephews Justin, Matthew and Dana Hardy, Jeffery Simpson, and a host of great nieces and nephews.
Friends and family will be received on Fri. Feb. 13th, 2026, from 6 – 8 pm at Jones Funeral Home, 228 S. Pleasant Valley Rd, Winchester VA. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sat. Feb. 14th, 2026, at 11 a.m., with Rev. Vernon Bray officiating, also at Jones Funeral Home.
A private burial will be held at a later date.
