Sandra Ann Darling, age 77, of Frisco, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2025, in McKinney, Texas, surrounded by her loving family.
Sandra was born on June 28, 1948, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Gertrude (Kapfhamer) and Everett Bolz. She graduated from Brookfield East High School in 1966 and earned her Practical Nursing certification from Milwaukee Technical College in 1968.
Soon after, Sandra set off for Hawaii with her twin sister, Sue, and a group of fellow nurses to begin their careers and see the ocean. While there, she met her future husband, Rodger Gamino. After marrying, they made their home in the Dallas area and welcomed their daughter. Sandra remained a proud Texan for the rest of her life.
She was passionate about nursing and lifelong learning. In 1991, she earned her Registered Nurse license from El Centro College, and in 1996, she graduated from the University of North Texas Southwestern Medical Center as a Women's Health Care Advanced Nurse Practitioner. Sandra spent her career specializing in gynecological care, dedicating herself to supporting and empowering women through every stage of life.
Sandra found joy in dancing-especially country western and push dancing-as well as traveling and going on cruises. She loved celebrating the holidays with family, playing games, and creating lasting memories with those she loved most.
She will be remembered for her compassion, adventurous spirit, and unwavering love for her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gertrude and Everett Bolz; her beloved twin sister, Susann Malone; her brother-in-law, Roland Kim; and her niece, Becky Kim.
Sandra is survived by her daughter, Tamara Gamino, and Tamara's father, Rodger Gamino, as well as her cherished grand-dog, Winnie, all of Frisco, Texas. She is also survived by her siblings: Kris Kim of Hawaii, Bill Bolz of Alaska, Boni Bassler (Klaus) of Illinois, and Dan Bolz of Wisconsin.
Sandra leaves behind many nieces and nephews who brought joy to her life: David Malone of Hawaii; Nick Kim (Kari) of Washington; Lorelei Bassler (Heather) of Wisconsin; Daniel Bassler of Illinois; Cassie Cosgrove (Justin) of Wisconsin; Caitlin Bolz of Wisconsin; and Jesse'ann Spanogle of Alaska. She is also lovingly remembered by her great-nephew, Kayden Malone of Hawaii.
