Sandra Jo Day

Sandra Jo Carol (Mullins) Day, 80, was born January 17, 1946, to Isaac and Sabra (Busby) Mullins in Muskogee, OK and peacefully passed away September 30, 2025 at her home in Muskogee. Sandra was a dedicated and compassionate secretary who devoted 35 years of her life supporting the principal at the Oklahoma School for the Blind nurturing the vibrant school community before her retirement in 2004. Her love for her job was evident in her warm interactions with the children, always greeting them with a friendly smile and encouraging word. A faithful member of York Street Christian Church, Sandra actively participated in community activities, spreading joy and kindness to all who knew her. She was a loving grandmother who cherished every moment spent watching her energetic kids and grandkids play a variety of sports, their joyful laughter echoing through the air. She delighted in the playful antics of her mischievous puppies, whose boundless energy brought her happiness. In her meticulously maintained backyard, she found peace while mowing the grass or sitting quietly, observing the colorful birds, enjoying the serene beauty of nature. An avid puzzle enthusiast, Sandra relished the challenge of piecing together intricate designs, often accompanied by her favorite show, NCIS, which captivated her imaginative mind. Her warm spirit and loving nature will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Sandra is now reunited with her parents, Iaasic and Sabra (Busby) Mullins; her sister, Jean Mullins; and her brothers, Jim and Bob Mullins. She is lovingly survived by her daughter, Shari Walters of Muskogee, OK; her son, Darrin Day of Joplin, MO; her grandchildren, Jonathan Walters, Zachary Windrix and wife Megan, Melanee Day, Rylee Walters, Justin Walker and wife Tasha; and her great-grandchildren, Billy Walker, Autumn Clawson, and Raelynn Windrix; brothers, Eddie Mullins and Danny Mullins and wife Marilyn; and sister, Margie Richerson. A celebration of Sandra's life will be held 2PM, Friday, October 3, 2025, at York Street Christian Church in Muskogee with Pastor James Lambert officiating. Dale Orr, Jonathan Walters, Zachary Windrix, Justin Walker, Eddie Mullins, and Danny Mullins will serve as honorary urn bearers.
