Sandra J. Desorgher, author, educator, and co-founder of the World Community Autism
Program, passed away on September 10, 2025 in Jamestown, TN at the age of 67
years.

Born on September 17, 1957 in Oaklawn, Illinois, Sandra devoted her life to supporting
families and children on the autism spectrum. With her husband and collaborator Max
Desorgher, she developed and promoted "Sarah's Diet", a nutritional approach for
autism care. They also co-authored "The Power Of Exile--Autism A Journey To
Recovery". She also wrote "The Kingmakers" and contributed to numerous articles and
program guides used by parents and practitioners worldwide. Her work reached
audiences across the United States, Europe, and Asia through conferences, trainings,
and community initiatives.

Sandra was known for her fierce dedication, compassionate teaching, and her
unwavering belief that every child deserved to be seen, understood, and supported.
Friends and family remember her as a tireless advocate and an inspiring voice for
families seeking hope.

Sandra has lived with her husband Max for the last several years in Jamestown TN.
She has carried on her passion for helping those who were living with the effects of
autism or Asperger's Syndrome, mostly about communicating through the computer and
cell phone. She was able to assist an Aborigine woman from South Africa, To devise a
diet from local foods that were available to her in order to reduce the symptoms of
autism so she could live a more comfortable and productive life. Sandra attended
Morganton, junior high school and graduated from Freedom High School in 1979.

She is survived by her devoted husband Max Desorgher, her mother Leona "Lee" Opp;
Siblings, Ginger Johnston, Mary Ann Domanska, and Casey Opp; and her children,
Robert Johnson and Erika Johnson. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert
Clyde Opp Jr.; She is also preceded in death by her 23 year old, adopted daughter
Sarah, who was diagnosed as autistic savant when she was five years old. Sarah was
living with Max and Sandra in the UK and attending college when she passed away.

Memorial service will be held at 1 P.M. on Friday, September 19, 2025 at the Allardt
Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends from 11 A.M. until time of the
service at 1 PM.
