Sandra Edmondson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Scott Funeral Home on Jan. 21, 2026.
Sandra Eileen Edmondson, age 81, passed away peacefully January 20, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born in Lafayette, Indiana, to the late Durward and Marjorie Taylor, who instilled in her the values of hard work, kindness, and devotion to family that she carried throughout her life.

Sandie was known by many for her wonderful cooking, a gift she shared both personally and professionally. Whether preparing meals for those she loved or serving students and staff during her career, she expressed her care through food made with warmth and generosity. She retired from Greater Clark County Schools, where she especially treasured her time working in the cafeteria at River Valley Middle School in Jeffersonville. There, she was more than a familiar face, and was a comforting presence who brought joy to countless days with a warm smile and a hearty meal.

Above all else, Sandie cherished her family. She was a devoted mother, a proud grandmother, and a loving great-grandmother. Her great-grandchildren affectionately knew her as "Gigi," a name that reflected the joy, tenderness, and steady love she poured into their lives. She was also a caring sister, whose bond with family remained strong through the years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David Edmondson, Sr. and her brother, Durward Taylor, Jr.

Sandie is survived by her children, David Edmondson, Jr. (April) and Tammy Lewis (Dan); her grandchildren, Dylan, Chrissie, Taylor, and Caitie; her great-grandchildren, Ellie, Fiona, Nash, Burke, Hank, and Jett; her brother, James Taylor and niece, Vicki Ledbetter. She leaves behind a legacy of love, generosity, and quiet strength that will continue to live on in all who knew her.

Visitation will be held from 11:00am to 1:00pm on Saturday, January 31, 2026 at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway. Funeral services honoring Sandra's life will be celebrated at 1:00pm at the conclusion of receiving hours on Saturday.
