Sandra Sue Fields, born in February 1939 in Terre Haute, Indiana, to Homer and Della Byrley, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2025, in Longview, Texas, surrounded by her family.
Sandra was a woman of remarkable strength, warmth, and wit. She faced life's challenges with courage and grace, enduring several major surgeries and always emerging a survivor. Her resilience was matched only by her deep love for her family and her playful spirit-especially when teasing her son-in-law Steve Sheets or enjoying time on her iPad.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Kim Lynn Pizzola, her son James McKinley Pizzola, her four brothers-Lymon, Donald, Earl, and Leroy-and her sister Carmen.
Sandra is survived by her former husband, Jackie Pearlie Fields, and her sister Linda Lou Greaver. Sister in laws Sandy Kay Fagg and Rebecca Ann Maldonado. She leaves behind a loving legacy through her children: sons Jackie, Billy, Johnny, and Brian; daughters Pam, Cheryl, Tina, and Toni; daughters-in-law Debra, Melanie, Tammy, and Jennifer; and sons-in-law Steve Sheets, Joe Meader, and Tommy Walton.
Her family tree flourished with 25 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild-each a testament to the love and life she nurtured.
Sandra's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Her laughter, her strength, and her unwavering love will never be forgotten.
