Memorial services for Sherri Lynne French Pilcher, 71 of White Oak were held 3PM, Monday, August 25, 20025 at East Mountain Baptist Church with The Reverend Mark Crim officiating. Interment was at East Mountain. Mrs. Pilcher died August 22, 2025 in Longview.
Sherri was born in Sulphur Springs, Texas on October 31, 1953 to the late Robert W. and Ouida Reed French. The family moved to East Mountain in the 1960's. Sherri attended East Mountain Schools until its closure, and transferred to Gladewater. She met Douglas F. Pilcher from Pritchett and the two schemed to both transfer to Union Grove schools to be together. The plan was successful, and the pair was married on July 24, 1971, at East Mountain Baptist Church. Sherri was a married senior, and the saga continued for 54years. The pair built a life and family together, overcoming all the obstacles that come with it.
Sherri was a devoted wife and mother. She worked every day to provide for her husband and give him the most comfortable home life. She managed her children, always leading them in the direction of faith and social graces. She was very committed to her faith and made sure it was passed to her children. Sherri was a world class cook and loved to entertain with a fine meal, real talk and a festive nature. She loved to decorate for holidays and always set the home for an amazing experience. She was very active with Beta Sigma Phi Sorority in Gladewater for years and Sherri's rock solid friendships are a testament of the truth and confidence people placed in her. Her friendships spanned her entire life to the very last moment. The family cannot express the gratitude to those whom have filled the gaps in the last year. Your friendship and commitment have allowed us all to function beyond what we could have done without you. We have never wondered a single moment if we were loved . Love flowed from her with every breath.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Doug F. Pilcher, her sons, B. F. of Union Grove, Rhett and wife Nicole of White Oak, and her finest joy, grandson Luke Hayes Pilcher. Other survivors include her sister, Bobbie McKnight of White Oak, Brother, Robert Dan French of Timpson; Sisters in law, Vinnie Bass of Mineola, Sheila Hill and Kathleen Hanneman both of Gilmer, Brother in law, Mike and Wanda Pilcher of Union Grove; numerous nieces and nephews, including Laci and John Hollrah of Hallsville, Lisa French Wise and Deanna Park of Timpson.
The family would like to express an endless appreciation to Patti and James Rogers; Carol, Jody, and Neal Coulter, Rebecca Feller, The Cammack Family, and staff at East Texas Funeral Home for all of the support during this time.
