MECHANICVILLE Sandra A. French, 85, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 29, 2025 at Hudson Park Rehab. & Nursing Center.
Born and educated in Cohoes, she was the daughter of the late Hardick Mayott and Margaret Murray Chevalier. She was a gifted seamstress and worked for most of her life as a sewing machine operator at UniFirst Corp. in Watervliet until her retirement. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and working around the house.
Sandy was the loving wife of Donald R. French; the beloved mother of Mary L. Ashley (Tom) of South Carolina, Jenny Cerroni of Cohoes, Margaret Donohue of Schaghticoke, Patricia Bell (Ed) of Tennessee and the late Robert L. Anderson, Jr.; the sister of Joyce Formen of Ballston Spa, Alan F. Mayott of Arkansas, John Thorne of Albany, and the late Carol McMahon, Shirley Murphy and Frank E. Mayott. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 12 p.m. in the Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 105 Vliet Blvd., Cohoes. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens, Colonie.
Relatives and friends may visit the funeral home from 10 am-12 pm prior to the service.
