Sandra Marlene "Sandi" Gatewood

Sandra Marlene Gatewood, 84, of Westport, passed away at 6:36 p.m. on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at Columbus Regional Hospital. She was born on February 11, 1942 in Westport, Indiana the daughter of Edward and Eileen (Voiles) Baldwin. She was born and raised in Westport and was a 1960 graduate of Sandcreek High School. She was the clerk for Sandcreek Township from 1971-2014. She was a member of the Westport Baptist Church. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, crocheting, flower gardening and playing the keyboard for the church. Sandi married Paul Aaron "Bill" Gatewood at the Westport Methodist Church on February 11, 1959. He preceded her in death on June 7, 2012. She is survived by her daughters, Lisa (Don) Shumard of Columbus and Jennifer (Brad) Himes of Indianapolis; her sons, Paul A. Gatewood Jr., Kenneth (Susan) Gatewood and Thomas (Ruby) Gatewood all of Westport; her sister, Janet Redford of Westport; her brother, Mike (Jan) Baldwin of Columbus; 13 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers, Bennie Dale Baldwin and Reece Alan Baldwin; a sister, Karen Ann Baldwin; grandson, Benjamin Gatewood and a granddaughter, Ashley Steinhart. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Bass & Gasper Funeral Home in Westport. Burial will follow at Westport Cemetery. A time of visitation will be on Saturday, March 21, from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Westport Baptist Church Building Fund, Westport Volunteer Fire Department or Letts Volunteer Fire Department through the funeral home.
