Sandra Gonet Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Meldrum Mortuary & Crematory - Mesa on Mar. 20, 2026.
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Sandra (Sandy) L. Gonet (née Morrow), who departed this life on March 10, 2026, in Arizona, at the age of 84. Born on December 6, 1941, in Lynn, Massachusetts, Sandra enjoyed growing up in that community.

Sandra graduated from Lynn Classical High School in Lynn where she pursued a business track and lettered in volleyball.

Her early professional life began at the New England Telephone Company, where she worked as a keypunch operator. Later, Sandra moved to Salem, Massachusetts, where she raised her children and took on the role of homemaker for many years. Subsequently, she returned to the workforce at Tymshare as a keypunch operator. Following this, she worked at the Liberty Tree Mall food court and served as a security guard at Celadon. She later retired to Arizona.

Sandra enjoyed watching Law and Order, golf, baseball, and World News, and doing word search puzzles. She had a fondness for Girl Scout Thin Mint and Do-Si-Do cookies, pasta, Werther's Original candies, and Queen Anne chocolate-covered cherries.

Sandra was preceded in death by her grandmother, Bessie (MacDavitt) Holder, who raised her; her parents, Frederick Morrow and Mildred (Doherty) Morrow; her husband, Frederick Gonet; and her half-brother, Richard Morrow.

She is survived by her son, Robert Gonet, and his wife Robin; her daughter, Nancy Drozewski, and her husband John; and her sister, Irene Sorrells. Sandra was a grandmother to Megan Kape and her husband Alex, and her grandsons Michael Drozewski and Thomas Gonet. She was also a great-grandmother to Rickard Drozewski-Sheppard and Jaxon Kape. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She will be remembered by her family and those who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary's Food Bank.
