Waterbury – Sandra W. Hansen, 91, beloved wife of the late Arthur R. Hansen, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2026.
Sandra was born January 22, 1934, in Hartford, to the late Lyle W. and Ethel (Sandin) Wright. Sandra was a member of the First Congregational Church in Southington enjoying outings and functions with her church friends. She was also a former member of the Junior Women's Club and Beta Sigma Phi.
Over the years, she enjoyed activities with her husband such as dancing, canoeing, rollerblading and trips to Cape Cod and Maine. Her greatest joy was her family. Especially her granddaughter Laura, who she loved deeply and was extremely proud of. In her later years, she enjoyed watching UCONN Basketball, golf, and Hallmark shows.
Sandra is survived by her son, Glenn A. Hansen; her daughter, Linda J. Grenier; her son-in-law Lee Grenier; her granddaughter, Laura Grenier (Dan); as well as extended family and friends. In addition to her husband and her parents she is predeceased by her brother, Richard L. Wright.
The family would like to thank her longtime caregiver Jody who took wonderful care of her keeping her engaged in Mulberry Gardens activities. Additionally, Mrs. Hansen's family would like to thank the staff at Mulberry Gardens, Sheriden Woods, and Athena Hospice that provided excellent care for her in her last days.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
