Sandra Kaye Hobbs, born September 5, 1949, to Arbert M. (Chick) Hobbs and Mildred McAndrews Hobbs, died peacefully on Thursday, December 05, 2024, at the age of 75.
Sandra was born in Monroe, Louisiana. She moved to El Dorado, Arkansas at a young age and attended school there until she graduated high school. During high school, she played the oboe for the band, but her main focus was being a majorette. After graduation she attended Arkansas State University in Russellville, AR.
She was able to live in several states but found a special place in Mtn. Home, Arkansas. There she developed deep friendships that hold to this day. After running offices in Mtn. Home and then Rogers, AR she moved to Hot Springs, AR, where she worked for the Arkansas Health Department and finally with the Arkansas Department of Community Correction, where she finished her career of twenty-eight years after returning to the El Dorado area in 1993.
One characteristic that always followed Sandra was her ability to put people at ease while be open and kind. She was always generous with her time and made you feel welcomed and loved. She held Christ in her heart and tried to always follow His example.
Throughout the journey of her life, she was absolute and steadfast in the relationship with her only child. For many years it was only these two together in a time that saw struggle and hardship but also wonder and joy. A time that was precious beyond measure. She also held a profound love for her grandson and great-grandson.
Outside of her all-time favorite thing, Diet Coke, she was a huge fan of the Razorbacks, NASCAR, she loved Dale and Dale, Jr. and Drum Corps, especially Carolina Crown of Fort Mills, SC.
Sandra is preceded in death by her parents A.M.(Chick) Hobbs and Mildred McAndrew Hobbs, and her brother, Alan Hobbs.
Sandra is survived by her son, Brett Johnson; grandson, Ian Johnson; great-grandson, Oliver Johnson, and the puppy that brought her much joy and comfort, Charlie, (all of El Dorado, AR), and a host of extended family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Brett Johnson, Ian Johnson, Don Johnson, Chase Lemoine and Colton Elliot.
