It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sandra Kay Hummel, a cherished mother, sister, and friend, who left this world on 10/31/2024 at the age of 74. Her warmth, kindness, and boundless love touched everyone around her, and she will be remembered for the many ways she made the lives of those around her brighter.
Sandra was born on 02/26/1950 in Macomb, Il. She was a remarkable woman who dedicated her life to her family, nurturing and caring for each of them with a selfless devotion. A natural caregiver, she made every holiday a celebration, every family meal a feast, and every hug a memory of love and safety. Her joy for life was contagious, bringing light to every room she entered.
She is survived by her beloved family: her children, Sara and Jeff Greivell, Kim Hummel, Lisa Hummel. Her grandchildren Aiden and Cameron Greivell, Madeleine Ritchey. Brothers Steve and Larry Olson. She will be profoundly missed by them all, along with the many friends who became family along the way.
Sandra was known not only for her love of family but also for her passion for crafting and love of all holidays leaving behind a legacy of strength, integrity, compassion, and warmth that will live on in everyone who was lucky enough to know her.
Her family will hold a celebration of her life in Spring of 2025 in Illinois. They invite all who knew her to join them in honoring her memory and sharing stories of her incredible life.
Sandra leaves a legacy of love, laughter, and countless memories that will remain in our hearts forever.
