Sara Harkey Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Nassau Funeral Home - Callahan on Feb. 26, 2026.
Harkey - Sara Ann Partridge Harkey of Tallahassee, Florida passed away on February 19, 2026, just before her 92nd birthday. She was born on July 17, 1934, in Orlando, Florida to the late John and Lila Partridge. Sara grew up as the fifth child of six children, and from a young age had developed a genuine connection with the local church. She showed immense dedication and a strong will that prepared for a successful life in the eyes of her Lord. As a young adult she desired to serve as a full-time missionary.

While attending Asbury University, she was both the homecoming queen and secretary to the college President. She had a love for writing, poetry and art, that narrated her life through acts of service. She would often write songs and poems for those suffering or in great need as a sincere act of ministry. She served alongside her husband for nearly 40 years in pastoral ministry. Sara was the epitome of a pastor's wife in every sense of Proverbs 31 and Titus 2.

Sara was preceded in death by her dear husband, Rev. Bernard Harkey; her parents, John and Lila Partridge; siblings, Ed Partridge, Ruth Shepherd, John Partridge, Waring Partridge, Elizabeth Lewandowski; son, Alan Harkey; and great grandson, Hosea Harkey.

Sara is survived by her children, Beth Anne Jones, Grace Jones Page (Tim), Sarah Harkey Simmons (Harvey), and daughter in love, Janet Harkey; grandchildren, Chris Harkey (Hope), David Harkey (Michelle), Bethanie Simmons, Ashley Simmons, Bennett Simmons (Gisselle), Rebecca Simmons, Matthew Latourelle (Jaclyn), Jenna Latourelle, Tyler Latourelle (Brooke), Adam Page (Amy Jo), Cody Page (Amy); great-grandchildren, Ella Hamby (Aaron), Henry, Hudson, Christopher, Erin, Benjamin, Solomon, Ashur, Kaya, Carolina, Lili Rose, Jaxson, Ezekiel, London, Asa, Elodie, Ellie Jo, Teagan, Zoey, Deacon, Adalyn, Emmett, and Penny.

Please join us in the Celebration of Sara's Life on Monday, March 2, 2026. Visitation will be held at 9:30 a.m. and the Service will begin at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Gray Gables, 54031 Church Road Callahan, FL, 32011. Interment will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Evergreen Municipal Cemetery, 1975 W 25th St. Sanford, FL 32772.
