Amanda Matilda Harkey

Mrs. Amanda Matilda Harkey, 43 of Marietta, GA passed away on Thursday, January 8, 2026. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at 10:30 am in the Chapel of Marietta Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Sandy Plains Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.

Amanda Matilda Harkey, born November 4, 1982, passed away surrounded by love, leaving behind a legacy defined by faith, strength, and unwavering devotion to her family.

Amanda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, auntie, and friend. She lived a life rooted in love and service, always placing her family and her faith at the center of all she did. Despite being told by doctors that her illness would prevent her from living past the age of 40, Amanda beat the odds. Her life stood as a testimony to perseverance, trust in God, and the power of faith over fear.

Amanda loved the Word of God and found deep comfort in Scripture, especially Acts 2:34, a verse that reflected her steadfast belief in God's promises and eternal sovereignty. Her faith was not only spoken but lived-quietly, faithfully, and consistently-in the way she loved others and endured hardship with grace.

Above all else, Amanda cherished her role as a grandmother. Her grandchildren, Claire and Henry Whitley, were the joy of her heart and gave her a sense of purpose and happiness that words could never fully express.

Amanda is survived by her devoted husband, Andrew Harkey; her daughter, Emily Harkey-Whitely and her husband, Joshua Whitley; her son, Jonathan Harkey; and her beloved grandchildren, Claire and Henry Whitley. She is also lovingly rem embered by her parents, Robin and Richard Dotson; her brother, Tyler Dotson, and his wife, Ashley Dotson, along with their two children; her parents-in-law, Bonnie and Jeff Harkey; her brother-in-law, Matthew Harkey, and his wife, Samantha Harkey, along with their four children; and many extended family members and dear friends.

She is now rejoicing in Heaven with her beloved Nannie, Janice Matilda Engle, whom she loved so dearly, and with her three precious children who went before her. We find comfort in knowing she is whole, healed, and at peace in the presence of the Lord she faithfully served.

Amanda will be remembered for her quiet strength, her deep faith, her selfless love, and the way she made everyone around her feel cared for and seen. Her legacy lives on through her family and through the countless lives she touched.
