Sandra (Sandy) Jay, born January 4, 1947 died peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, June 23, 2024. She was 77. Sandy was a graduate of Saint Joseph High School in Mount Oliver. Sandy is survived by her husband, Robert (Bob), of almost 59 years. Together, they built a life, raising five children, living in Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, OH, Battle Creek, MI, and returning to Pittsburgh, where they have lived for the balance of the last 38 years. Sandy's warm hearted, funny, helpful, and inviting personality is the reason she developed so many treasured lifelong friendships over the years. Sandy's most valued treasures are her five children and eleven grandchildren. She loved each and everyone uniquely and endlessly, providing unsolicited support, guidance, and an abundance of love. Sandra is preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Harriet, Ohnhaus of Mount Oliver and her brother Bill Ohnhaus (Maureen) of Plum. She is also survived by her sister Debbie (Joe) Gianella of Mt. Pleasant, SC her daughter Kristin (Frank) Blazewick of Cranberry Twp, sons Robert (Rebecca) Jay, Kevin (Stacey) Jay, Brian (Kelly) Jay all of Pittsburgh, and daughter Keri (Shadi) Sumrain of Hudson, OH; grandchildren Ashley (Ryan) Patrick, Matthew Blazewick, Gabrielle and Gavin Jay, Noah and Ayden Jay, Hannah Paytas, Kinsley and Kameron Jay, and Xavier and Nya Sumrain, and many nieces & nephews. Friends will be received on Thursday from 1-3 & 6-8 p.m. at Simons Funeral Home, Inc., 7720 Perry Highway, Pgh, PA 15237where the funeral service will be held on Friday at 11 a.m.In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation of Western PA, https://pfwpa.org, or Down Syndrome Association of Pittsburgh, https://dsapgh.org, in honor of Sandy's granddaughter Kinsley or join Kinsley's Kickers for the Buddy Walk on October 19th.
