Sandra "Sandy" Kay Jones age 65 of Strunk, Kentucky passed from this life on Friday, May 23, 2025 at her home.
She was born July 30, 1959 in Jellico, Tennessee to Dillard Harold Lay and Roberta (Richmond) Perkins. In addition to her parents, Sandy is preceded in death by her husband, Louis Edward Jones; a sister, Debbie Nevels; and a sister-in-law, Wanda Lay.
Surviving family include her son, Lendell Jones of Strunk; a daughter, Tracy Jones (and David) of Monticello, Kentucky; a brother, Clayton Lay of Somerset; a sister, Sharon Kidd (and Keith) of Pine Knot; and grandchildren, Leah Marie Jones, Jordan Lee Jones, and Gabrielle Renee Jones.
Sandy also leaves behind special friends, Joy, Pam, Tava, and JoAnn, who have stayed the best of friends ever since High School.
Sandy had been a member of the Kingtown Baptist Church with her husband. She was a homemaker who enjoyed nothing more than caring for her family, especially her grandchildren. They were her world.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at 1:00 pm in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. Willis Troxell officiating. Burial to follow in the Kingtown Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday after 11:00 am until service time.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the funeral home to assist with remaining expenses.
