Benny Joe Strunk

Benny Joe Strunk age 77 of Strunk Ky went to heaven on February 9th 2026. He was born in Winfield Tn on October 28th, 1948, to the late Louie and Madeline Strunk (Chitwood).

Funeral services will be held Monday, February 16, 2026, at 1:00 pm in the chapel of the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Strunk Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 11:00 am Monday at the funeral home.

Benny worked for Forest Smith Construction for years then logged the Leatherwood Road with Greer Brothers Construction when that was over, he cleared the roadway for Mine 18 which are the roads and trails we drive and hike today. He was a hard worker and proud of the work he done. Before he got sick, he enjoyed working with his brother making trim at Strunk Molding.

He will be remembered for his sense of humor he could always make you laugh. He was kind to everyone even when a person didn't deserve it. He loved his family, always tried to give them all he could whether it be an ear to listen a hand to hold or some tough love. He was the best and will be missed dearly. He loved to talk and tell stories about when he was young, he loved fishing and rabbit hunting. He had a passion for gardening everyone always told him he could grow a plant on a rock. He enjoyed grill outs with his family, watching moonshiners with ' my Jenny' he would say. And most of all being with his grandkids who he spoiled to death.

In addition to his parents, he is proceeded in death by his brothers Lloyd Strunk and Carl Strunk a sister Betty Sue Spradlin. Two nieces Patsy Stephens and Nancy Bridges a nephew, Donald Strunk. An infant nephew Carl James and an infant sister Mary Jane. And his best friend Alan Smiddy.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years Jenny Strunk 2 daughters who thought he hung the moon Tammy Posey and Nikki Strunk and husband Darren. His grandkids Gavin Posey, Kaden West (Maranda),Talan West, Kyler Strunk, Trynniti Strunk, Matt King (Lauren), Ethan King and a great grandbaby boy coming in May.

Brothers Delmon Strunk and wife Phyllis of Winfield Tn, Elmon Strunk and wife Alene of Winfield Tn, Johnny Lee Strunk and wife Betty of Winfield Tn. A sister Anna Lou Strunk of Strunk Ky 2 sister in laws Opal Strunk of Winfield Tn Ann Strunk of Strunk Ky. And so many nieces, nephews and other family that meant so much to him.

Gone from our sight but never our hearts.
