Thomas Manuel Trammell, better known as Tommy, age 86 of Strunk, Kentucky passed from this life on Thursday, January 22, 2026 at the UT Medical Center in Knoxville, Tennessee.
He was born on April 19, 1939 in Strunk, Kentucky to the late David Robert Trammell and Marie (Webb) Trammell. In addition to his parents, Tommy is preceded in death by the mother of his children, Thelma Lois Trammell; his step-mother, Lois Ann Trammell; a brother, Bruce Trammell; and a sister, Ruth Roselee Trammell.
Surviving family include his son, Thomas Manuel Trammell II (and Jennifer Neely); daughters, Anna Ross (and Ronnie), Jennifer Freeman (and Randy), and Virginia Stewart (and Tyrone); seven grandchildren, Sean Stewart, Dakota Hall, Amber Hall, Megan Stewart, Dylan Hall, Zachariah Trammell, and Destiny Trammell; two great-grandchildren, Maddox Stewart and Korbyn Vanover; and a special granddaughter whom he helped raise, Tedessa Jones.
Also surviving are Tommy's brothers, Bobby Joe, Johnny, Robert, Gary, Anthony, Jeff, and Ronnie "Doc" Trammell and sisters, Kathy Trammell, Vickie Trammell, Annette Trammell, and Mary Trammell Hubble.
Tommy had been a member of the Upper Marsh Creek Baptist Church since childhood and had recently been attending Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. He was an avid farmer who enjoyed cutting hay and in the last years, sitting and watching the other fellas cut. Tommy had worked at several jobs including night watchman for the coal mines as well as serving 3 terms (12 years) as a Constable for McCreary County, District 3. The passing of Tommy is mourned by those who knew and loved him. He will be sadly missed.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026 at 3:00 pm in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. Norman Burke and Bro. Willis Troxell. Burial to follow in the Hill Cemetery on Mt. Pleasant. The family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday after 1:00 pm until service time at the funeral home.
