Sandra "Sandy" Lynn King, age 55 years, passed peacefully at University Hospital on Saturday, January 4, 2025. She was a long time Portland resident and loved being homemaker for her dear family. She was born in Ft. Thomas, Kentucky, on August 6, 1969. Sandy deeply valued her family and was a loving mother that dedicated her life to her son who now is a grateful cancer survivor. She was a cherished sister, daughter, mother, partner, aunt and friend and was strong-willed. She had overcome many obstacles throughout her life. Sandy was known for her wonderful sense of humor and infectious smile. She will be missed dearly. She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Paul King and is survived by her son, Robert Steven Ashley, her fianc'e, Warren Miles, her mother, Rita Marie Feiler and five sisters, Michelle M. Pierson, Julie C. Combs (Joe Colston), Catherine L. King, Barbara Lane and Lisa Sturdivant (Phil). Many nieces and nephews and dear friends also survive. Plans for a Celebration of Life are being made. J.B. Ratterman & Sons Funerals & Family Cremation Care, 2114 W. Market St. has been in charge of arrangements. Cremation is chosen.

I love and miss you so much Aunt Sandy
You will never be forgotten you will forever remain in my heart I always remembered the good times that we had together. You always made me laugh and smile when we had something funny to talk about whenever you came to my dad's and how we used to sit at the kitchen table and laugh and share funny jokes with each other. Rest in Peace aunt Sandy I love you very much. Always remember that if you ever need someone to talk to just look down at me and talk to me about whatever is on your mind. I will always be your sweet little niece that you always called me. Until we meet again.

When I was a little girl probably 6 or 7. I would throw some crazy tantrums. One day I was outside, having a fit, for whatever reason Aunt Sandy comes out back and says 'Alesha Marie, you better quit pulling your eyelashes out, they won't grow back' of course she says with a smile and a couple small laughs lol i dont blame her it was quite funny) i can't recall exactly what I said or done in that moment but I will say that TO THIS DAY I AM MISSING LASHES ESPECIALLY ON MY RIGHT EYE!
Thank goodness she told me that or I probably wouldn't have not one eyelash on my eyes
I love you auntie sandy

When I was a little girl, probably 6 or 7 I would throw some crazy tantrums. One day i was outside having a fit, for whatever reason and here comes aunt Sandy, 'Alesha Marie you better quit pulling your eye lashes out, they won't grow back' of course she said it with a smile and a couple small laughs (it was quite funny) I can't recall exactly what I said, but to this day I AM MISSING EYE LASHES, ESPECIALLY ON MY RIGHT EYE,
I quit after that day, but it was too late. Thank goodness she told me that or I probably wouldn't have a lash on either eye
