Sandra Laxson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Barnes-Friederich & Pope Funeral Home - Midwest City on Oct. 1, 2025.
Sandra Jean Laxson, 87, of Oklahoma City, passed away peacefully in the early hours of September 18, 2025.
Sandra was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend - but above all, she was "Grandma," "G-ma," or simply "Ma" to everyone who loved her. She never met a stranger, and once you were in her life, you were family.
She is survived by her siblings Tommy Johnson, Dennis Johnson and wife Kathy, Jerry Johnson, and Nancy Dickerson; her daughters Ginger Laxson and Debbie Morgan; her grandchildren Jason and Tara Thompson, Jennifer and John Leach, Sammi Morgan, and Allie Morgan; her great-grandchildren Zoe, Olivia, Tyler, Dani, Ryder, Gentry, Lyric, and Orion; and many special "adopted" children and grandchildren including Betty, Sherisse, Shawna, Carter, Claire, Cruze, Bryan, Bailey, Nancy, Lajean, Laurie, Ron; Also many nieces, nephews and friends, who all considered her their mom. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Travis Laxson; her parents, Homer and Alberta Johnson; and brothers Dick, Mickey, and Teddy Johnson.
Sandra spent her early career with Fred Jones Ford and later retired after more than 30 years with Schlumberger Well Services. Outside of work, she filled her life with things that brought her joy - bowling, karaoke, card games, crossword puzzles, cooking, lots of cooking, trips to the casino, shopping, and her favorite computer game Flipwords. But her greatest joy was being surrounded by family and friends, laughing, sharing stories, and making memories.
Her presence filled a room, and her love made everyone feel at home. She will be remembered for her quick wit, her generous spirit, and the way she always made people feel seen and loved.
A celebration of Sandra's life will be held Friday, September 26, at 2:00 p.m. at Barnes-Friederich & Pope 1820 S Douglas Blvd, Midwest City, OK 73130.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and family - and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
