Sandra Frances Magdaleno

It is with heavy hearts that we announce Sandra Frances Magdaleno, 72, beloved matriarch of the Magdaleno family, passed away on March 20th, 2025 surrounded by her family, in her Yuma home. Sandy was born on January 26th, 1953, in Ft. Campbell, Kentucky, to the late Gregorio and Frances Hernandez. She grew up in Yuma, Arizona with her siblings, the Nuñez family and friends. She was a graduate of the 1971 class of Kofa High School.
A devoted wife, Sandy shared her life with her husband of 53 years, Jarrett Magdaleno Sr., who was her one and only love since the age of 15. Together they built a family rooted in love. Her nurturing spirit was evident in her relationship with her children, Jessica and Jarrett Jr. Sandy took immense pride in her family which blossomed to include 5 grandchildren. She was not just a mother/nana, she was the heart of our family and she created cherished memories that will be treasured forever. As the matriarch, she cultivated an environment filled with love, laughter and acceptance. Her greatest joy and proudest accomplishment was her family which she nurtured with dedication and unwavering support. She will be remembered for her strength and knowledge. It was quite rare when she couldn't give you an answer or a solution to your question or problem. She was a fixer, and loved the challenge if something was broken. She definitely got that from her Dad.
She was a well loved member of the Yuma community and worked most of her years as an office manager to a couple of great doctors. She supported her husband, children and all her nieces and nephews in their sports and activities and loved bowling and playing softball. She was very artistic, loved drawing, painting and crafting. She was involved in children's ministries for several years and made sure to involve her grandchildren when they visited. Incorporating church in their lives and sharing her faith was very important to her. Vacation bible school was always a week the grandkids looked forward to.
She was the centerpiece of our family and taught us all how to love and care for one another. She is survived by her husband, Jarrett Magdaleno Sr. of Yuma, her daughter Jessica (Michael) Medoro, her son Jarrett (Amber) Magdaleno Jr, her 5 grandchildren Jarrett Patrick Magdaleno III, Mikaela Medoro, Allyson Magdaleno, MJ Medoro and Madison Medoro, all of Queen Creek, Az.; her two brothers Greg (Vicki) Hernandez of Vista, Ca.; Steve Hernandez of Yuma, Az., her two sisters Annette Hernandez of Yuma, Az., and Cindy Hernandez of Tucson. Az.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Sandy was the best Wife, Mother, Nana, Mother-in-Law, Sister, Aunt, Cousin and Friend. We will forever cherish the memories and her legacy will forever echo in the lives she touched.
