Sandra Royce Marne (Wilson) was born on October 1, 1944 to Rayshel Hubert and Ruth (McCrum) Wilson in Lubbock, TX. She was the third and youngest child, her brother James Wilson who was 14 years old and sister Virginia Ruth Wilson who was 12 at the time. "She was the prettiest little baby with her blonde curls and big blue eyes," as quoted by her big sister. Her daddy was a painter and they moved to Colorado Springs for work where they lived until she was 12 and then moved to Aurora Colorado near Lowry Air Force base. She graduated from Aurora Central High School in 1964 and worked at Dolly Madison making soda drinks. She enjoyed bowling and was in a league at Celebrity fun center where she met and began dating her future husband, Wayne Marne, he was also in a bowling league at Celebrity. They had a lot in common, they lived within a 2 mile radius of each other, their parents were both named Hubert and Ruth and they were both fun loving and big-hearted. They married September 5, 1970 at Calvary Temple in Denver, CO. Their first daughter Dana Marne was born in August 1971 and their second daughter Jennifer Marne in September 1974. Sandra worked at the Federal Center until Jennifer was born and they moved from their little house in Denver to a larger house in Littleton, CO. Sandra had different jobs-she did daycare while her girls were young and also became an Avon sales representative up until her last days. She worked outside of her home at her girls school cafeteria and once they were older she worked at Pinehurst Country Club. She worked at Pinehurst for many years, at the 9-hole diner where she made lifelong friends. She was still always close by and available for visits from her girls and their friends. Her first grandchild, Aaron Isaacs born March 1991 to Dana. She again began doing daycare in 1995 so she could be with her grandson. Her second grandchild Skylar Gaines was born July 2004 and her sister Addisyn Gaines in October 2006. She is survived by her daughter Dana Orme (Marne), Chris Orme, Aaron Isaacs, Jennifer (Marne) Gaines and Jeff Gaines, Skylar and Addisyn Gaines. She is also survived by her sister Virginia (Wilson) Leonard, and Jim Wilson as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Sandra continued doing daycare until she mostly retired in 2016 and continued providing after school care for Karina Lynn who she loved like her own. Sandra was preceded in death by her parents Rayshel Hubert and Ruth Wilson, and her ex-husband Wayne Marne. Sandra enjoyed taking care of others and for the last several years had her corgie/blue-heeler "Rae Lynn" who she loved dearly and made sure she was well cared for. Sandra adored just about anything Disney related and made several trips to Disneyland and Disney World, as well as going on two Disney Cruises with her family. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. May she rest in peace.
Sandra's Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2023. Doors open at 10 am, services at 11 am, with lunch reception following the services at St. James Presbyterian Church, 3601 W. Belleview Ave., Littleton CO 80123.
