Sandra Faye McCarty

Sandra Faye McCarty, affectionately known as Sandy, of Roanoke, Virginia, passed away on December 14, 2025, at the age of 75. She was born on September 19, 1950, in Roanoke, Virginia.

Sandy worked as the office manager at Vistar Eye Center, where she was valued for her professionalism, dedication, and warm personality. She was an active member of the Roanoke Valley Shag Club and found great joy in dancing, especially at Parties in the Park and at shag events in Myrtle Beach. Sandy loved to travel with friends and family, creating lasting memories wherever she went. Her love of music, movement, and companionship brought happiness not only to her life but to everyone around her.

She was preceded in death by her father, Lawrence Edward McCarty, and her mother, Virginia Doris Sink.

Those left to cherish her memory include Christine Tiller and her husband; her granddaughters, Hannah E. Ferguson and Hayden Overstreet; her grandsons, Glen Tiller Jr. and Nicholas Tiller; her great-grandson, Gabriel Hangelia; her brothers, David Edward McCarty, John McCarty and his wife, and Derik McCarty; along with many nieces and nephews, and many friends and dance partners who loved her dearly.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Roanoke Valley Shag Club in Sandy's memory.
