Sandra L. McMichael

Sandra L. “Sandi” (Heil) McMichael. 78, of Reading, passed away December 28, 2025, at the St. Francis Home.

Born in West Reading, she was a daughter of the late William James and Jane Marie (Shearer) Heil.

She was the life-time partner of Ronald R. “Pap” Rowe, Reading. Sandi predeceased by her husband, Richard C. McMichael, on October 25, 2009.

Sandi was a graduate of Reading High School in 1966 and Modern School of Photography, NJ in 1986.

Sandi owned and operated McMichael's Photos in Wernersville for two decades, where her keen eye for detail allowed her to capture timeless moments for her customers. Following her successful photography career, she applied her managerial expertise at Super Pets in Reading and Lancaster for ten years before retiring in 2009. After retirement, Sandi continued to share her knowledge as a consultant for Nature's Garden Vitamin Store in Exeter Township.

She cherished her family, adored her cats, and found joy in working outdoors. While basking in the fresh air, she relished horseback riding, and afterward, she would retreat indoors to immerse herself in a captivating book. She will be truly missed by her family and friends who miss her dearly.

She is survived by her daughter, Erin Marie McMichael, companion to Jason Wert, both of Reading; her step-daughter, Ruthie Ward, Philadelphia; four grandchildren: twins, Richard Hummel and Thomas Hummel, both of Millsboro, DE, Russell Ball, Temple, and Thayer Wert, Lancaster; and three great-grandsons: Clayton Hummel, Braylen Ball, and Asher Ball.

She was predeceased by her sister, Susan P. Heil.

A Memorial Service will be Monday, January 5, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at Kuhn Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 5153 Kutztown Rd, Temple, PA 19560. Burial will be private.
