Sandra "Sandy" Kay Patin age 75, died Monday, March 3, 2025 at Mission Point in Greenville. She was born February 26, 1950 in Grand Rapids, the daughter of Bernard and Leatrice (Hoover) Flachs.
Sandy was truly warm-hearted, kind, and cared deeply for people. She worked at the post office for several years, volunteered at the nursing home in Cedar Springs, and helped her sister care for their parents in their later years. She had a passion for drawing, which inspired her son's interest in art. She made amazing pizza, peanut butter fudge, and pork chops. Later in life, she took an interest in coloring and would display her work on the walls in her room. Those who visited would marvel at her talent. Sandy enjoyed her long gab sessions on the phone with her sister and loved catching up on what was going on in the lives of her grandsons, friends, and family. What she treasured most was being a wife, mother, and grandmother, and she found joy in the love of her family. Even in illness, she was always concerned about others and their well-being.
Sandy is survived by her son, Robert (Sarah) Patin; grandsons, David and Andrew Patin; siblings, Dan (Kathy) Flachs, Kris (Carl) Haywood, Gary (Debbie) Flachs, Jane Ringler, Kelly Slagel; sisters-in-law, Mary Flachs, LuAnne Murray; brothers-in-law, Michael (Chrissy) Patin, Thomas (Lynne) Patin; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Patin; brother, Steven Flachs; brothers-in-law, David Slagel, Paul Ringler, David Patin, and Gregory Patin. A private family graveside will be held at St. Mary's Cemetery in Sand Lake. Memorial contributions may be made in Sandra's name to the Anxiety Resource Center, PO Box 73, Sparta, MI 49345 or online here.
