Sandra Jean (Pitts) Prior, 87, passed away peacefully at McClure Miller Respite House on December 19, 2025. She was born in Troy, NY on March 19, 1938 daughter of the late Samuel Pitts and Helen (Kohler) Pitts.

Sandra married Douglas Lee Prior on Sunday April 1st, 1956, which was also Easter Sunday. Sandra graduated from Essex High School in 1955. Sandra's greatest joy on Earth was being a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, she just loved babies so much, and her happiest times were the times that she spent with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was the best cook in the whole wide world.

Sandra is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Douglas Lee Prior, her two sons Gregory Lee Prior, Bradley Scott Prior and his wife Soraya Reina, her daughter Laurie Jean Prior, her grandchildren Nicole Sheffer and her husband Will Sheffer, Bradley Prior Vaughn and his wife Sara Mae Hearne, Nicholas Jordan Prior, Shannon Marie Prior and her husband Aiden Hetrick, Christian Alexander Prior, Joshua Steven Prior and the mother of their child Shannon, Alexandra Noelle Prior, and Garrett Prior Darrah, her great grandchildren, Shannon Day, Isabella Delphia, Jack Sheffer, Ryan Hudson Prior, Aaron Hetrick, and Hudson Prior, her brother Terrance Pitts, many nieces, nephews and cousins. Sandra was also predeceased by her brother Lawrence Pitts and sister Nancy Holden.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday December 29, 2025 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at A W Rich Funeral Home – Essex Chapel. Funeral services will be held at the All Saints Episcopal Church in South Burlington on Tuesday December 30, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Anne Hartley officiating. Burial will be held in spring at the convenience of the family in the family lot in Pleasant View Cemetery, Jericho.
