Sandra Kay Proffitt, age 79 of the Daysville community of Rockwood, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 28, 2025, at her home. She was born on October 19, 1945, in Pleasant Hill. She worked for many years in the healthcare industry, and served for more than 25+ years as the director of medical records and Chamberlain Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Daysville Baptist Church where she served the Lord. She was also a proud member of the choir. She was an avid reader, loved doing crosswords, and especially her beloved cat. She is preceded in death by her parents: John Lee Marlow & Ella Elizabeth Walker Marlow; husband: Milburn Edd Proffitt; and 10 siblings. She is survived by:
Daughter: Nancy Leigh Spurling (Tim)
Son: Paul Edd Proffitt
Grandchildren: Grayson David Proffitt, Joshua Lee Spurling, Josie Marlow Proffitt, and Tanner Noble Proffitt
Sister: Sylvia Sue Baird
and a host of nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 3, 2025, from 4:00-6:00 pm ET at Evans Mortuary in Rockwood. Funeral service will follow at 6:00 pm ET with Pastor Charles Johnson officiating. Cremation arrangements have been made and a private family interment will be held at a later date. Evans Mortuary is serving the family of Mrs. Sandra Kay Proffitt. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Daysville Baptist Church or the Daysville Community Cemetery.
