Mrs. Quarles was born in Columbia, SC, on May 3, 1949, daughter of the late George Powell and the late Mary Sue Booth Powell. She was a creeler having worked at DuPont.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, John William "Billy" Quarles; daughter, Paula Denise Quarles; and sister, Paula (Pick) Sorrow.
Survivors include son, Steve Quarles (Frances) of Danielsville, GA; daughter, Anne Alexander of Rayle, GA; and grandchild, Reynaldo Cortez, III.
Memorial services for Mrs. Quarles will be held at a later date.
Pruitt Funeral Home in Royston, GA is in charge of arrangements.
