Sandra Rafos, Winsome Woman of Steel

Bob always called her Sandra,
Many of us knew her as Sandy.
Her winsome smile expressed her kindness.
Her twinkling eyes conveyed her love of life and family and those surrounding her.
She was a professional woman before her time,
A devoted wife and mother.

Willing to fill in gaps, to do what was helpful
To be a dependable team member,
Sandy sparked vision for a more compassionate world.
She was no push over, and when tested, she stood her ground, unbending like steel.

Who knew that such artistry resided in her fingertips,
And that a native spirit was resident in her soul?
She dared to give that spirit expression, sharing with others
The drumbeat of nature, the artistry of quilting,
The audacity to weave community in a time broken by the stress of
Transition.

Sandy and Bob. Thank you for leaving a legacy of three lovely and serving.
Daughters, who carry on your family´s gift of
Integrity. Thank you for weaving a family nest that has cradled confident
Grandchildren who carry on your
Spark in life and service. Your gift is complete, as are your lives.

Sandy was the first babysitter for our precious baby daughter in Hong Kong. We were nervous parents leaving our little one for the first time and Sandy reassured us and greeted us with a beaming smile of "she was a little darling´ when we returned to pick her up. Thankyou Sandy for that loving care so many years ago. Clare and Bill Bonnell
