Sandy will live on in my heart, she was the student I felt most close to at Bryn Mawr and after when we both lived in Philly near her med school. At the time, I did not realize that all of our parents were Polish Jews who survived the holocaust, those days we did not talk of such things. Decades later, I made a few attempts to find her, but I was consumed with chronic illness and could not follow through. I am now in great pain for failing to do so. Her untimely passing fills me with grief. I am glad to know she had children, who like her are no doubt creative and brilliant. I would be so glad to hear from her children about her life, perhaps to know her last decades of life. My heart aches that we never not discussed our shared history as children of survivors.
